The motif
Four quarter-round shelves sit above one another in a slim frame, each of fine spokes with an ornamental rim. Above the top shelf rises a pierced crest of volutes, arched supports sitting beneath each of the others.

Craftsmanship and finish
The rust brown tone is intentional and lacquered, not actual rust. The shelves are spoked individually, the crest bent as a separate part and set on top. The frame is bent by hand from round iron, welded and dressed, the ornaments applied one by one. Finally the piece is primed and lacquered in several layers, the last layer taken back slightly at the edges so that the surface looks used.

Placement and effect
The shelf uses a corner that would otherwise stay empty: in a conservatory, a bathroom, on a balcony or in a hallway. With 34.5 cm sides it takes little room and still carries four levels.

Material and care
The furniture is made for outdoors and tolerates sun and rain. Over the winter it should be stored dry or covered, which noticeably extends the life of the lacquer. Small scratches can be touched up with a lacquer pen, stubborn dirt comes off with water and a soft brush.
