The "France II" was an imposing cargo clipper of the French Merchant Navy and was launched in Bordeaux in 1911. With five masts and a length of approximately 146 meters, it was considered one of the largest and most impressive sailing ships of its time. Equipped with luxurious interiors, it primarily transported nickel ore from New Caledonia to Europe. In 1922, it ran aground off the coast of New Caledonia – but its name lives on today as a symbol of technical expertise and nautical elegance.
