The set is crafted from solid wood with inset mirror glass that draws light into the surface and doubles the depth of the room. The gold mouldings and carved ornaments run from the headboard across the bedposts to the two bedside chests, which at 76 x 60 x 110 cm are unusually large and tall and therefore stand beside the bed like independent chests of drawers.
