The motif
The horse rears onto its hindquarters, the head turns to the side, mane and tail streaming back. The darkly patinated skin stands against the brightly polished fetlocks and hooves, which emphasises the movement further. The figure is carried by an irregularly modelled rock base.

Craftsmanship and casting
Body, head and base are cast separately and welded, the seams dressed by hand; mane and tail are chased individually afterwards. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
At over two metres high the horse is a piece for the large space: entrance hall, reception, courtyard or driveway. It needs distance on all sides for the silhouette to work and shows best when the light comes in at an angle from the front.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
