The motif
A boy stands with one leg slightly bent on a round pedestal above a ribbed basin, the head inclined to the side, the curly hair finely cut. The motif goes back to the famous Brussels fountain figure and is shown here in a classical marble version. The base carries a garland with volutes.

Craftsmanship and stone
The block used is white with grey veining; the veins run through basin and base and trace the curve. Pump and pipework are not included in the delivery. The piece is worked from a natural block of marble, roughed out by hand, modelled and finally ground and polished. Every block brings its own veining, so no two pieces turn out alike.

Placement and effect
The fountain is slender enough for a smaller courtyard, a terrace or a conservatory and needs no large open area. Against a hedge or a rendered wall the white comes out best.

Material and care
Marble is a natural stone and ages with dignity, a soft dry cloth is all it takes for dusting. Acidic cleaners, vinegar and descalers do not belong on the surface, they attack the limestone. Veining, colour gradients and small inclusions are natural features of the material and not a defect.
