This chandelier by Casa Padrino is the middle size of the Chelsea form and the most usable one for many rooms. Solid crystal rods shaped into arcs hang from a gold-coloured ring and interlock so that their loops form a woven basket.

At 41 cm in diameter and 40 cm in height, width and depth are almost equal. The piece therefore looks balanced from every side, unlike the tall slim and the small flat versions of the same series.

The curved glass goes back to Venetian glass craft: the rods are shaped while hot, so every arc turns out slightly differently. They are hollow-ground inside, so each arc carries the light along its full curve and glows as a continuous line instead of merely flashing at the edge.

Its place is above a dining table for four to six, in an entrance hall, a bedroom or over a seating group. At 8 kg installation is straightforward; an ordinary load-bearing ceiling fixing is enough.
