The face is drawn in Dia de los Muertos style: sugar-skull paint, a crown of flowers, skull earrings. The focal areas, eyes, flowers and necklace, are set with applied rhinestones that catch the light.

The whole is framed by pale lilies and rose scrollwork on cream velvet, with teal fringing all round. The printed 1954 - 2024 gives the dates.

A cushion like this is the quickest way to give a very straight interior some personality. It draws the eye without rearranging the room.
