About the condition: this mirror stood in our showroom. The gold frame shows signs of age and fine chipping, particularly around the crest. On a piece made this way that is not a flaw but what collectors call patina. We show it in the photos rather than talking around it.

The appeal lies in the carved crest: a crown above a bow, flanked by laurel swags, carrying the oval frame upwards. The gadrooned frame running all round catches the light afresh at every curve.

At 40 cm wide the mirror is small enough for narrow stretches of wall: beside the front door, above a chest of drawers, in the guest cloakroom. This piece comes from our showroom in Essen and is available only once.
