The Olivier is worked as a palm leaf: a fanned frond in polished brass whose fine ribs catch the light and carry it up the wall. Switched off it is a wall object; switched on the leaf becomes a reflector giving soft indirect light rather than glare.

At only 9 cm deep it barely projects. That makes it usable in hallways, stairwells and narrow passages where a bulkier fitting gets in the way. At 35 cm wide it still carries a wall on its own.

Polished brass does not age neutrally; over the years it warms in tone. If you would rather it did not, polish it occasionally; if you like it, let it run. It looks best in pairs either side of a mirror, a door or a bed.
