Twenty years of the Bal de Noël: an anniversary in the Salle Empire
Monte Carlo, December 2025. On 12 December 2025 the Bal de Noël celebrated its 20th edition in the Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. Held under the high patronage of HSH Princess Charlène of Monaco, the charity gala has been among the most exclusive evenings of the Monegasque winter season for two decades. Marvin Schertl, founder and artistic director of Casa Padrino, and Dr Sina Schertl represented the brand among the invited guests.

The Salle Empire, the ballroom of the Principality
The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has stood on the Casino square since 1864 and is the address at which Monaco holds its great evenings. The Salle Empire is one of the most splendid halls on the coast: height, gilding, chandeliers, wall paintings, a room that needs no decoration and is nonetheless staged anew every year. For a house like Casa Padrino such a hall is the benchmark against which its own work is measured.
A ball with a purpose
The highlight of the anniversary gala was an auction conducted by Sotheby's. The proceeds of the evening go in full to the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco, which works worldwide to prevent drowning, teaches children to swim and conveys values through sport. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène attended in person.
The Bal de Noël therefore stands for what belongs together in Monaco: the highest social standing and a purpose that outlasts the evening. The guest list is kept small and put together personally.
"Keeping the same evening at this level for twenty years is an achievement in itself. That constancy is exactly what we value in our furniture as well."
Marvin Schertl, founder and artistic director of Casa Padrino
Monaco is not foreign ground for Casa Padrino
The Principality and the adjoining Côte d'Azur are among the core markets of the house. Residences, yachts, grand hotels and boutiques between Saint-Tropez and the Italian border are among the spaces Casa Padrino works for, frequently as a complete furnishing from design to installation on site. Production is largely by hand: furniture in Italy, ceramics by Spanish artisans, brass in Indian workshops, together with solid marble, gold leaf and hand upholstery. Dimensions, materials and finishes can be chosen freely for every project, up to unique one-off pieces.
The brand's presence in the Principality has grown over the years: Dr Sina Schertl is a member of the Women of Monaco Club, the house was invited to the 70th Bal de la Rose and was honoured during the Cannes Film Festival for outstanding design quality.
