Some seating stands in a room; some puts it in order. This baroque armchair by Casa Padrino belongs to the second kind: dark brown wood, carved by hand, set off in gold, with a back that asks for posture and gives it.
Carved, not pressed
The frame is made by hand; every volute, every leaf is cut individually. No two armchairs are exactly alike – and that is why the gilding on the edges looks alive rather than machined.
The natural dark brown holds the opulence together: gold on pale wood turns loud quickly, gold on dark wood turns precious.
