This Casa Padrino table lamp translates the globe lantern of English hotel halls into table format. A 43 cm glass globe is held by slim brass bands that meet in a small crown at the top and pass into the stem below.

At half height a pierced decorative ring runs around the globe. It separates the two glass half shells and at the same time serves as a handle to open the lantern for changing the bulbs. Inside sits a three arm candle fitting that shows the light source openly instead of hiding it.

The globe is carried by a slender column stem on a stepped round foot. At 15.6 kg almost all of the weight sits in the base, so the lamp stands securely despite its height.

At 112 cm overall it is not a side table accessory but a piece of furniture in its own right: on a console in the entrance hall, a wide sideboard or a mantelpiece it takes on the role of a small floor lamp.
