This pendant lamp by Casa Padrino follows the form of the old church and vestibule lantern. Four curved struts run down from a domed lid and there hold a semicircular glass bowl in which the bulbs sit openly on a cross.

A pierced metal band runs around the rim of the bowl, finely punched and lit from behind. With the light on it draws a narrow wreath of bright points onto the ceiling, while the light falls evenly downwards through the glass.

The surface has an aged zinc finish: grey, matt, with lighter edges on the curves, like a piece that has been hanging for some time. It suits oiled oak, lime plaster, natural stone and linen.

At 43 cm in diameter the lamp is small enough for a hallway, stair landing or guest bathroom and large enough to stand alone above a round dining table for four. At just 7.1 kg installation is straightforward.
