Pompöös by Casa Padrino: glamour furniture created with Harald Glööckler

This page explains what the collaboration stands for, how the glamour style can be described, how it pairs with classic baroque furniture from Casa Padrino, and what to keep in mind when it comes to advice, ordering and delivery. The images on this page show selected baroque pieces from the Casa Padrino range that suit a glamorous interior. They are not part of the Pompöös collection.

Casa Padrino is the brand of Demotex GmbH in Essen, Germany, which has run it since 2007. You will find all company details in our legal disclosure and a detailed overview on the page Is Casa Padrino legit?.

What Pompöös by Casa Padrino is

Pompöös by Casa Padrino is a design collaboration. Harald Glööckler contributes his unmistakable signature, Casa Padrino its experience in designing and selling luxury furniture. The result covers three areas: furniture, decoration and bathtubs. Every piece aims to give a room an entrance.

The name says it all. "Pompöös" stands for interiors that may be splendid, confident and a little theatrical. At the same time, craftsmanship remains the benchmark: a glamorous piece has to hold up in everyday life just like any other quality furniture.

Harald Glööckler and Casa Padrino: two signatures, one attitude

Harald Glööckler is known as a fashion designer who has never seen opulence as a flaw, but as a way of life. Casa Padrino, for its part, has been offering furniture in baroque, Art déco and classic styles for many years. Both see beauty, ornament and shine as what makes a room unforgettable.

The collaboration thus combines a fashion designer's eye for silhouette and effect with a furniture house's care for proportion, materials and stability. Founder and managing director Marvin Schertl has shaped the Casa Padrino line from the very beginning. You can learn more about him in the portrait Marvin Schertl, master of timeless opulence (in German).

The glamour style at a glance

Glamour in interior design can be recognised by a few recurring features. First, there are the surfaces: gold, silver, high-gloss lacquer, mirrored panels and metal that catch the light and reflect it back. Then there are fabrics with depth, such as velvet or lustrous upholstery, which make a seat look soft and precious.

A second feature is strong contrast. Black and gold, white and gold, a bold red next to light surfaces: glamour likes colours that heighten one another. Third, ornament plays a major role, whether as carving, as a pattern in the fabric or as a striking silhouette. A single glamorous piece can define a room, while several coordinated pieces create a stage.

Furniture, decoration and bathtubs

The collaboration covers three areas that complement each other well. The furniture is about pieces that carry a room: seating, tables and storage that set accents through form and finish. The decoration builds on this base and makes it possible to bring the style into an existing interior in smaller steps.

The bathtubs are something special. A freestanding bathtub with an expressive design turns the bathroom into a place where you enjoy spending time. Here the idea behind Pompöös shows clearly: everyday rooms may be festive too. With bathtubs, dimensions, weight and connections need to be clarified in advance, which is why we always recommend a consultation.

Glamour and baroque: why they belong together

The glamour style and the baroque have more in common than you might think at first glance. Both celebrate ornament, both love gold and precious upholstery, both want to impress. This is why Pompöös pieces combine very well with Casa Padrino baroque furniture.

The difference lies mostly in tone. Classic baroque is solemn and steeped in tradition, while glamour may be more playful, more modern and more surprising. If you would like to look more closely at choosing baroque furniture, our page Buying baroque furniture: what to look for offers guidance.

Decorating with glamour: ideas for living spaces

If you want to furnish a flat or a house in the glamour style, it is best to start with an anchor piece. That might be a sofa, a large mirror, a dining table or, in the bathroom, a freestanding tub. Colours, fabrics and accessories then pick up its tones without outdoing it.

It helps to choose one main colour and one accent colour. Gold as an accent looks elegant and bright against white, cream or grey, but deep and festive against black or burgundy. Chandeliers, wall lights and mirrors multiply the effect of glossy surfaces. Opulent furniture also needs space, so that its silhouette can come into its own.
