Bed Headboards: Turning the Wall Behind the Bed Into Furniture
You never see your own headboard from the bed, and yet it defines the entire room. At Casa Padrino a bed headboard is therefore a piece of furniture in its own right, not an accessory: upholstered, covered by hand, in widths that range from a single bed to a continuous hotel wall. It complements an existing frame from our Beds section, or carries the visual weight of a complete bed without you replacing the frame.
Velvet, Leather and Fine Woven Fabric
The material decides whether a bedroom reads as calm or as bold. Velvet absorbs light and returns it softly, which is why it carries the coloured pieces of the collection from dark blue to antique pink. Genuine leather in the Chesterfield version does the opposite: it traces edges sharply and develops a patina over the years that no new piece can imitate. Between the two sits the fine woven fabric with a linen look, the most restrained option in grey, beige and taupe. Woven rattan and solid wood round off the range.
Diamond Tufting, Stud Borders and Baroque Silhouettes
Three signatures shape this collection. Diamond tufting pulls the cover into an even diagonal grid with fabric-covered buttons and gives the surface depth. The stud border frames that surface, running around the edge at a constant spacing like a passepartout line. Widths From 160 to 300 Centimetres
Width follows the bed, not the mattress. For a 180 cm bed a 200 cm headboard works better than a 180 cm one, because it overhangs on both sides and visually ties in the bedside tables. The collection starts at around 160 cm for single and guest beds, centres on 200 cm and reaches 300 cm for suites and large bedrooms. Heights span a similar range: 140 cm stays quiet and well below the ceiling, while 220 to 240 cm turns the bed wall into a full surface.
From Pearl Grey to Dark Blue
Most of the collection sits in the neutral row: pearl grey, light grey, stone grey, taupe grey, taupe, beige grey, beige, cream and cream white. These tones differ less in their names than in the amount of light they throw back. Pearl grey is the brightest of them and makes a room with little daylight feel larger. Alongside them stand the strong velvet colours turquoise, dark blue, camel, antique pink and silver, plus black and gold for clear contrast.
Construction, Mounting and Craftsmanship
Most models are built around a solid wood core with dimensionally stable polyester foam, and every seam and every stud is set by hand. The pieces are either fixed to the wall or stood behind the bed frame, both work. Because the headboard is not attached to the bed, it can later be used with a different frame, for example a model from our Modern-Line or a bed from Country House Style Beds.

Hotels and holiday apartments use headboards because they give a room character quickly and can be sourced in series: same finish, several rooms, one image. At home the reason is usually different. The bed is already there and simply needs to look better. That is exactly where a single headboard is the smallest change with the biggest effect, and it is done in an afternoon.
